Near-infrared light at 760–940 nm is directed at the skin. Haemoglobin in superficial veins absorbs it differently from surrounding tissue.
The device detects this optical contrast and builds a real-time map of the superficial vein structure.
The vein map is projected onto the skin by DLP projection, without contact.
Twelve projection colours, three sizes, six brightness levels and nine display modes adapt the image to the patient and setting.
